Etymology[edit]

Inherited from Bulgar ال (ellü, fifty),[1] itself inherited from Proto-Turkic *ellig (fifty).[2][3] Possibly related to алӑ (ală, hand).

Cognate with Khalaj əllig, Turkish elli, Uzbek ellik and Bashkir илле (ille).
