Russian[edit]

 бушлат on Russian Wikipedia

Etymology[edit]

Unclear. Hinze hypothesized that the term is an alteration of German Buschurunk (sailor's blouse), influenced by хала́т (xalát, smock, robe); Shansky found Hinze's argument insufficiently convincing.
