From Old East Slavic дъбрь (dŭbrĭ) : дьбрь (dĭbrĭ), from Proto-Slavic *dьbrь (“valley, ravine”), from Proto-Balto-Slavic *dubr-, from Proto-Indo-European *dʰubr-, from *dʰewbʰ- (“deep”).
