Old Church Slavonic

Etymology

From Proto-Slavic *moltъ, from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Indo-European *melh₂- (to grind, crush), whence also млѣти (mlěti, to grind). Compare similar semantic development from the same Proto-Indo-European root in Latin malleus (hammer), beside the usual reflex molō (I grind).
