Etymology[edit]

The original spelling is թագուրհի ‎(tʿagurhi), borrowed wholly from Iranian but the exact origin is undetermined. The first component is also found in թագ ‎(tʿag), թագաւոր ‎(tʿagawor). For the ending see -ուհի ‎(-uhi).
