Etymology

Dialectal reflex of Old Armenian կայանամ (kayanam). Part of the conjugation is derived from Old Armenian կամ (kam).

Usage notes

Nowadays this verb is not used independently, but forms the part of compound verb վեր կենալ (ver kenal, to get up) and few others, such as անց կենալ (ancʻ kenal, to pass). Again, except վեր կենալ (ver kenal) the other compounds are rarely used.
