עָבַר • (avár) (pa'al construction)

1. To pass, to cross.
2. To move (e.g. change residence).

   הם עברו לעיר שגרתי בה. ― hém av'rú la'ír shegárti báh. ― They moved to the city I lived in.

   לא רוצים לעבור לשעון קיץ במדינות רבות. ― lo rotsím la'avór l'sha'ón káyits b'm'dinót rabót. ― People do not want to change (lit. move) to summer time in many countries.

3. To undergo, experience, be subjected to.

   אני עובר ניתוח ביום שני. ― aní ovér nitúakh b'yóm sheiní. ― I'm having surgery on Monday.

   היא עברה תקיפה מינית. ― hi av'rá t'kifá minít. ― She was sexually assaulted.
