From Middle Persian 𐭦𐭫𐭢𐭥𐭭 (zlgʿn /⁠zargōn⁠/) (Persian زرگون (zargun, literally gold-colored)), from Proto-Iranian *jr̥Hanyam (gold). Doublet of إِسْرِنْج (ʔisrinj).
