    Borrowed from Arabic صَلِيب (ṣalīb), borrowed from Aramaic צְלִיבָא (ṣəlīḇā), borrowed from Akkadian 𒁇 (ṣalāpu, to cross out, to pervert; to give difficulty or be crooked, not be easy or straight). Doublet of چلیپا (čalipâ).
