عَسَى (ʕasā)

  1. it is hoped (with following non-past or with أَن (ʔan) + subjunctive)
    Synonyms: (rare) حَرَى (ḥarā), (rare) اِخْلَوْلَقَ (iḵlawlaqa)
    عَسَى ٱلْمُشْكِلَةُ تُحَلُّ.
    ʕasā l-muškilatu tuḥallu.
    I hope the problem will be resolved.
    عَسَى ٱلطَّالِبُ أَنْ يَنْجَحَ فِي ٱلاِمْتِحَانِ.
    ʕasā ṭ-ṭālibu ʔan yanjaḥa fī l-imtiḥāni.

      Allah may bring about goodwill between you and those of them you hold as enemies.
