Etymology

From Middle Persian [script needed] (-ntk' /⁠-andag⁠/), from [script needed] (-nt' /⁠-and⁠/) +‎ [script needed] (-k' /⁠-ag⁠/), ultimately from Proto-Indo-European *-onts. Akin to Old Armenian -անդակ (-andak), an Iranian borrowing.
