Etymology

Inherited from Middle Persian [Book Pahlavi needed] (plpyh /⁠frabīh⁠/),[1] from Old Persian *frapīδwa-, a combination of Proto-Iranian *fra- and *piHtú (fat, tallow) from Proto-Indo-Iranian *piHtú. Equivalent to فرـ (far-) +‎ پیه (pih, fat, tallow).
