An extension of ف ص ص‎ (f-ṣ-ṣ) dating to Central Semitic. Compare later development of ح ص ل‎ (ḥ-ṣ-l) from ح ص ص‎ (ḥ-ṣ-ṣ) and even later قَصَلَ‎ (qaṣala).
