[edit]Etymology
[edit]Prefixed from ض م م (ḍ-m-m).[1] Attribution of نِظَام (niẓām, “order; a kind of rope on which beads are rowed”) to ancestors of Persian نیام (niyâm, “scabbard”),[2] of which the other formations within the root would be denominal, is hardly acceptable.
