Borrowed from Classical Persian نظم (nazm), from Arabic نَظْم (naẓm). First attested as Old Hindi نظم (naz̤m), from the Arabic root ن ظ م (n ẓ m). See other Urdu terms derived from the Arabic root ن ظ م.

- قرآن مجید لفظ بلفظ آنحضرت صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہٰ وسلم کے قلب پر القا ہوا تھا اور وہی الفاظ اور اسی نظم سے جس طرح القا ہوئے تھے آنحضرت صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہٰ وسلم نے لوگوں کو پڑھ سنایا۔
- qurān majīd lafz̤ balafz̤ ānḥaẓrat ṣall-allāhu ʻalaih-i va-ālih-i va-sallam ke qalb par alqā hūā thā aur vahī alfāz̤ aur usī naz̤m se jis t̤arḥ alqā hū'e the ānḥaẓrat ṣall-allāhu ʻalaih-i va-ālih-i va-sallam ne logoṉ ko paṛh sunāya.
- The Holy Qur'an was inculcated in the heart of the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, word for word, and in the same words and in the same order as they were inculcated, were recited by the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, to the people.
