From the root ܓ-ܢ-ܢ (IPA(key): /ɡ-n-n/) related to lying down. Compare Akkadian gannatu[Cuneiform needed], Arabic جَنَّة (ǧanna(t)), and Hebrew גִּנָּה (ginnâ).
