Etymology[edit]

From ܚܨܝܦܐ (ḥaṣṣīᵽā(ʾ), bold), from the root ܚ-ܨ-ܦ (ḥ-ṣ-p) related to being bold + the abstract noun ending -ܘܬܐ (-ūṯāʾ). Compare Hebrew חֲצִיפוּת (ḥăṣîᵽûṯ).
