From ܝܗܘܕ (Yəhūḏ, Judea), from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Hebrew יְהוּדָה (Yəhûḏâ) + the masculine gentilic suffix ܝܐ- (-āyāʾ). Compare Arabic يَهُودِيّ (Yahūdiyy) and Hebrew יְהוּדִי (Yəhûḏî).
