Forming a root ܨ-ܠ-ܒ (ṣ-l-b) related to crucifying, impaling, from Akkadian 𒁇 (/ṣalāpu/, “to cross out, to pervert; to give difficulty or be crooked, not be easy or straight”). As nouns also Arabic صَلِيب (ṣalīb) and Hebrew צְלָב (ṣəlāḇ), Ge'ez ጸልቦ (ṣälbo), ሰሊብ (sälib), Lua error in Module:parameters at line 159: Parameter 1 should be a valid language, etymology language or family code; the value sem-jar is not valid.
