Etymology

From Ancient Greek σάπων (sápōn), from Latin sāpō, from Proto-Germanic *saipǭ. Also found as Lua error in Module:parameters at line 290: Parameter 1 should be a valid language, etymology language or family code; the value "sem-jar" is not valid. See WT:LOL, WT:LOL/E and WT:LOF., Arabic صَابُون (ṣābūn), Hebrew סַבּוֹן (sabbôn).
