    Inherited from Proto-New Indo-Aryan *आक्कड (ākkaḍa), possibly from Sanskrit आकृ॑त (ā́kṛta). First attested in c. 1679 as Middle Hindi اکڙ (akṛ /⁠akaṛ⁠/).
