Etymology

    Borrowed from Classical Persian بِرَادَر (birādar). First attested in c. 1649 as Middle Hindi برادر (bradr /⁠birādar⁠/). Doublet of भाई (bhāī), भ्राता (bhrātā), and भ्रातृ (bhrātŕ).
