Borrowed from Classical Persian حق (haq(q)), from Arabic حَقَّ (ḥaqqa). Compare Gujarati હક (hak), Hindi हक़ (haq), Punjabi ਹੱਕ (hakka) / حَق (ḥaq), Bengali হক (hok).
