[edit]Inherited from Old Punjabi ਵਲਿ (vali /valli/), from Paisaci Prakrit [Term?] (compare Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀉𑀯𑀮𑁆𑀮𑀺𑀬𑀤𑀺 (uvalliyadi)), from Sanskrit उपलीयते (upalīyate, “to lie close to”).

- uha ajja-kallh apaṇī paṛhāī valla dhiāna rakkha rihā hai.
- He is paying attention to his studies these days.
