[edit]Inherited from Sanskrit दुग्धिका (dugdhikā) (unattested outside of lexicographer's lists), from दुग्ध (dugdha, “milk”) + -इका (-ikā). Note the similarly-shaped words for "gourd" in Western Asia, documented at Old Armenian դդում (ddum) (→ Romani dudum).
