Etymology
From Proto-Southwestern Tai *sɤkᴰ (“enemy; war”),[1] from Old Chinese 賊 (OC *zɯːɡ, “thief; bandit”).[1] Cognate with Northern Thai ᩈᩮᩥᩢ᩠ᨠ, Isan เสิก, Lao ເສິກ (sœk), Lü ᦵᦉᦲᧅ (ṡoek), Shan သိုၵ်း (súek), Ahom 𑜏𑜢𑜤𑜀𑜫 (sük). Compare Lua error in Module:parameters at line 290: Parameter 1 should be a valid language, etymology language or family code; the value "mkh-okm" is not valid.
