[edit]From Proto-Mon-Khmer *koŋ (“to bend; to be bent”). Cognate with Khmer កោង (kaong). Doublet of ก่ง (gòng), ก้งโค้ง, โกง (goong), โก้งโค้ง, and โค้ง (kóong).
