Cognate with Lao ໃຕ (tai), ໄຕ (tai), or ເຕີ (tœ̄, “gizzard; kidney”), Lü ᦺᦎ (ṫay, “gizzard; kidney”), Tai Dam ꪻꪔ (“gizzard”), Tai Dón ꪻꪔ (“gizzard”), Phake တ︀ၞ် (taü, “kidney”), Zhuang daw (“gizzard”), Saek เต๋อ (“gizzard; kidney”).
