Etymology

[edit]
This etymology is missing or incomplete. Please add to it, or discuss it at the Etymology scriptorium.
Particularly: “According to STEDT, the "rhā" in a record "kraññʼ rhā" (to look for) is from a Proto-Lolo-Burmese *s/g-(y/r)a (to seek, search, look for); cognates with this second syllable include Yellow Lahu [Term?] (tsa¹, to search). STEDT mentions that the initial consonants of this word family are "complex" and messy to deal with - is "kraññ" related to this somehow? Otherwise, STEDT doesn't give an etymology for the syllable "kraññʼ", while Luce implicitly links the word to Proto-Sino-Tibetan *ken (to see, know).[1]
