Etymology[edit]

From Middle Iranian, from Old Persian [script needed] (tačara-, palace). Ačaṙean following Čubinov assumes a mediation by Old Armenian տաճար (tačar) from the same source, but this is unlikely because of Georgian (ʒ) for Armenian ճ (č). See Persian تجر (tajar) for more.

Noun[edit]

ტაძარი (ṭaʒari)

  1. cathedral, sanctuary, temple
  2. palace
  3. feast, banquet
