Etymology[edit]

From ぞっと (fear, disgust) +‎ しない, the negative form of する (“do”).[1] Compare ぞっとする (shudder from fear, be disgusted).

ぞっとしない (zottoshinai-i (adverbial ぞっとしなく (zottoshinaku))

  1. unappealing, not desirable, unimpressive
    ()(にく)()べるってぞっとしない
    Baniku o taberu tte zottoshinai.
    I have no desire to eat horse meat.
