Etymology[edit]

First attested in the Neung'eomgyeong eonhae (楞嚴經諺解 / 능엄경언해), 1461, as Middle Korean 믯믯ᄒᆞ다〮 (Yale: mùysmùys-hòtá), equivalent to modern 밋밋 (minmit) +‎ 하다 (-hada, to do, light verb deriving adjectives).
