숨구다 • (sumguda)

1. Gangwon and Gyeongsang form of 숨기다 (sumgida, “to hide, conceal”).
   • 1981 July 22, 김돌룡 [gimdollyong], “점장이가 준 홍주머니로 얻은 복 [jeomjang'iga jun hongjumeoniro eodeun bok]”, in 한국구비문학대계 [han'gukgubimunhakdaegye]‎^[1], 경상북도 상주군 (현 상주시) 낙동면 [gyeongsangbukdo sangjugun (hyeon sangjusi) nakdongmyeon]:

     버드남클 숨가노마 갈고친다성가신다고.

     Beodeunamkeul sumgano-ma galgochindaseonggasindago.

     If you hide in the willow tree then you will obstruct his way.

From the Middle Korean 심ㄱ (Yale: simk-) allomorph of 시므다〮 (Yale: sìmù-tá).
