Please see Module:checkparams for help with this warning.

Logogram from Aramaic 𐡁𐡉𐡕𐡀 (baytā).

A Turkic borrowing, from Proto-Turkic *kon (friend, guest), also taking the meanings “guesthouse” as e.g. Chagatai قوناق (qonaq) and Ottoman Turkish قوناق (konak). Compare Yakut хоноһо (qonoho, guest), Bashkir ҡунаҡ (qunaq, guest), Azerbaijani qonaq (guest), and from the same source word Kumyk хоншу (xonşu, neighbour), Azerbaijani qonşu (neighbour), Ottoman Turkish قونشو (konşu, neighbour), Uzbek qoʻshni (neighbour). (Can this(+) etymology be sourced?)
