Perhaps from German -igen.

Suffix[edit]

-igi

  1. (with nominal/adjectival roots) to cause to be, e.g. pura ‎(clean), purigi ‎(to make clean, to clean (tr)).
  2. (with verbal roots) makes transitive verbs out of intransitive ones, e.g. bruli ‎(to burn (intr)), bruligi ‎(to burn (tr)).
