  1. (nominal) -unto One who would do the action of the root
    • 1991, Sergio Pokrovskij (translator), La majstro kaj Margarita, original by Mikhail Bulgakov, chapter 19:
Je mia honorvorto de eksa kapelestro kaj ĉefkantisto, neniu gratulus tian troviĝunton.
On my word of honor as a former chapel-master and lead singer, no-one would congratulate such a one as who might be found.
    • 1998 August 18, Jonathan Badger, “Re: I hate to say this but-”, in sosc.culture.esperanto[1] (Usenet):
Henry Cabot Lodge interalie estis usona ambasdoro al Vjetnamio (Suda) dum la Usona Milito tie, k siatempe ankaux Prezidunto [se mi rajtas uzis tian nenorman formon... ;-) ]
Henry Cabot Lodge was, among other things, the U.S. ambassador to (South) Vietnam during the American War there, & in his time also would-be President [if I may use such a non-standard form... ;-) ]
    • 2001 May, Paul Gubbins, “Tro da demandoj, maltro da solvoj”, in Monato, →ISSN:
afiŝoj minacantaj vaguntojn per monpunoj ĝis kvin mil pundoj
posters threatening would-be vagrants with fines of up to five thousand pounds
prezidi (to preside) → prezidunto ("one who would preside / would have presided [if ...]")
naski (to give birth) → naskunto ("one who would give / would have given birth [if ...]")
  2. (adjectival) -unta The active conditional participle
    • 1991, Sergio Pokrovskij (translator), La majstro kaj Margarita, original by Mikhail Bulgakov, chapter 1:
Malfacilas diri, kio fakte mishelpis Senhejmulon: ĉu la bildokrea forto de lia talento, ĉu la kompleta malkono de la temo, sed lia Jesuo estis perfekte viva, ja viva, iam ekzistunta Jesuo, kvankam cetere, havanta ĉiujn malvirtojn Jesuo.
It is difficult to say what actually hindered Homeless: whether it was the creative power of his talent, or his complete ignorance of the subject, but his Jesus was perfectly alive, indeed a living, would be at some time existing Jesus, although, in addition, a Jesus having all the vices.
