  1. leavened cucumber, fermented cucumber (made during the summer with water, salt, dill and garlic, but without vinegar. A slice of bread is placed at the top and bottom of the container, and it is left to sit in the sun for a few days so the yeast in the bread can help cause a fermentation process.)
