Etymology
From Sanskrit ताल (tāla). There is no reason to believe this word comes from 'Sanskrit' in the normal sense. Magadhi Prakrit exhibits both Lua error in Module:parameters at line 360: Parameter 1 should be a valid language or etymology language code; the value "inc-mgd" is not valid. See WT:LOL and WT:LOL/E. and Lua error in Module:parameters at line 360: Parameter 1 should be a valid language or etymology language code; the value "inc-mgd" is not valid. See WT:LOL and WT:LOL/E., so Sanskrit has probably borrowed this word from some Prakrit, possibly even Pali.
