Etymology

From Proto-Tai *ɟoːŋᴮ (crack; hole). Cognate with Isan ซ่อง, Lao ຊ່ອງ (sǭng), ᦋᦸᧂᧈ (tsoang¹), Zhuang congh. Possibly related to ซ่อง (sɔ̂ng).
