leccare
Italian
Etymology
Possibly of Germanic origin; cf. Frankish *likkōn, from Proto-Germanic *likkōną, whence Old English liccian (Modern English lick). Compare French lécher. Alternatively, perhaps from Vulgar Latin *ligicāre, from Latin lingere, present active infinitive of lingō.
