I already did this, then realized I should have followed the process first. If necessary I'll recreate the old templates and move everything back.

My reasoning was that spoonerisms are more like palindromes than the kind of things covered by topical categories: they have to do with manipulation of the words themselves rather than with the referents of the words. While one could quibble that Category:Terms by their sequences of characters by language refers to characters rather than sounds, it's a far better fit than the topical category framework.
