German[edit]
Etymology[edit]
From Feder (“feather”) + Ball (“ball”).
Pronunciation[edit]
Noun[edit]
Federball m
- the game of badminton
- badminton ball; shuttlecock
Usage notes[edit]
- The competitive sport is usually called Badminton, at least by those involved in it. However, Federball is more common for the same as a garden activity, particularly if the aim is to keep the ball in the air rather than to win points.
