German[edit]

Etymology[edit]

Unstressed -a- and -ar- are not distinguished in many German accents. Probably reinforced by mistaken association with Latin carnis (flesh, meat) as in German Karnivore or Inkarnation.

Noun[edit]

Karnibale m (weak, genitive Karnibalen, plural Karnibalen)

  1. Misspelling of Kannibale (cannibal).
