Etymology

From (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Japanese 京都 (kyōto, capital), from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Middle Chinese 京都 (kjæng-tu, capital [of a country]) (compare Mandarin 京都 (jīngdū)).
