Muwekma is the native people's word for "the people" in the dialects of Chochenyo and Tamyen.

  1. Ohlone people, native to the San Francisco and Monterey Bay Areas, California.
  2. The northern Ohlone people, as well as other Native Americans who descended from Mission Indians resident at the Santa Clara, San Jose or San Francisco Missions.
