  1. (obsolete) A taxonomic class within the kingdom Plantae – a polyphyletic taxon comprising all polyandrous plants (those having many stamens in each flower, inserted in the receptacle).

Usage notes

This taxon was erected by Carl Linnaeus as an aid in classification, but was not intended to represent a natural grouping.
