Reformed as a feminine i-stem from earlier *durī, from Pre-Germanic *dʰúrih₁ (double doors), dual of *dʰúrom (see *durą), from Proto-Indo-European *dʰwer-. Compare Old Armenian դուրք (durkʻ).
