Cognate with Latin gula (“throat”), Russian глота́ть (glotátʹ, “to swallow, gulp”), Old Armenian կլանեմ (klanem, “to swallow”), Persian گلو (galu, “throat”), Hindi गला (galā, “neck, throat”).
