Etymology[edit]

Compare *tewh₂- (to swell, crowd, be strong). Possibly analyzed as *tewh₂-k- or *tewH-k-, though the evidence is unclear[1]. Superficially similar to *(s)tewk- (to strike, hit) but unclear whether semantically related.
