Proto-Indo-Iranian[edit]
Etymology[edit]
From Proto-Indo-European *kʷé-kʷ-ḱ-u-s, neuter participle of *kʷe-kʷóḱ-e ~ *kʷe-kʷḱ-ḗr, perfect of *kʷeḱ- (“to see”), whence also Sanskrit चक्षति (cákṣati, “he sees”).[1]
